Our Story

Dun Objects is a long time dream of producing and sharing objects that I initially designed for myself!

It's created by me, Işık Kaya, an interior architect based in London. Studied in Istanbul Technical University and Politecnico di Milano; have lived and worked in Istanbul for the majority of my life and now in London enhancing my area of design with both spaces and now -finally- things! as well.

 

OBJECTS

I have been keeping sketchbooks since my university years. Among all this time of going to classes, during exciting projects at work or long journeys I had to take; I have accumulated sketches of so many objects in every scale that I one day aspired to make. These range from small scale buildings, to jewellery, door knobs, graphical patterns, home furniture, lighting fixtures or small accessories and a lot of other irrelevant stuff. I was always eager for them to have uniqueness as a common factor. This could be either in their form, their functionality, modularity, materiality etc. Being a very inquisitive person myself, I sincerely hope to create something personal, intending they wake the curiosity embedded in every one of us and acquire a glimpse of true attention.

You might have realised that there are only rings and no other “objects” available yet. Rings are my passion, so I’m starting with them (and also because hand modelling is my secret passion!) and I’ll hopefully move on to the other items which will eventually justify the name “objects”.
